The Truth About Fat

There is so much confusion surrounding the subject of fat in the diet. I’d like to help clear things up. 

Some people have commented recently on a few of my videos asking why I say healthy fat is bad. The truth is, I never said healthy fat is bad. Healthy fat is just that, it’s fat, and too much of any fat, healthy or not, is not good. It’s the ‘too much’ part that people are missing.

Bottom line, it’s not that healthy fat is bad, it’s only when you eat too much of it that you begin to experience problems.

Aside from the most commonly asked question “Where do you get your protein?” – the other major concern is “How can you eat so much fruit without getting diabetes or other blood sugar issues?”

The reason I can eat so much fruit and not have any blood sugar issues is I don’t eat more than 10% of my calories from fat. If I were to sit around eating large handfuls of nuts all day or loading up on bowls of guacamole, then I would have reason for concern.

When the body is balanced, fed properly with plant foods, with concern for the right amount of carbs, protein and fat, plus properly hydrated, then blood flows freely and effortlessly through the body. The arteries are clear and our cells are properly nourished and hydrated. When the balance is disrupted by a consistent increase in fat intake or high levels of protein, the synergy is thwarted and we begin to set the stage for illness.

When the body is overloaded with fat, the blood becomes thick and insulin is prevented from delivering glucose to the cells. To give you a better example, let’s take a look at it this way . . .

Think of your bloodstream like a highway. It allows different vehicles to travel on it’s vessel roads to deliver necessary goods (nutrients) throughout the body. Insulin is one of those vehicles traveling the red highway and could be considered a special delivery service delivering valuable food to the needy, which represents glucose for the cells. Eating excessive

fat could be compared to a bad snow storm creating bad road conditions and traffic jams. This “blockage” prevents the delivery service from getting through to deliver the food to the needy, (your cells). Those needy cells are then left starving and have no energy to function properly.

The police and fire personnel represent Candida which are always present in the blood. They get paid to keep things safe and in order. Cars represent sugar. The harder it snows, the more traffic violations, accidents and slow-downs there are, the more police and fire personnel show up to clear up the roads and make things safe again.

So there’s always Candida yeast in the blood. It’s designed to be there and it feeds on the sugar in the blood. That’s the job of Candida. When an excess of fat is consumed, it creates excess sugar in the blood. The Candida yeast are then forced to grow and expand to be able to consume the excess sugar in the blood and balance out your levels so you don’t die. This excess yeast is what creates all those uncomfortable symptoms traditionally diagnosed as Candida Albicans. 

If these hazardous conditions continue over and over, eventually the pancreas and adrenal glands get taxed beyond their capabilities and diabetes or other problems set in. However, if you keep your fat intake low by only consuming a small amount of healthy fats, the body remains in balance and there’s no concern for dis-ease.
So, enjoy your healthy fats but do so in moderation.
